“The Bukavu Foundation is a Toronto-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished women and children in the city of Bukavu, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Without help, these women and children have little chance at life. The Bukavu Foundation believes the best means of tackling the extreme poverty and destitution that plagues the Congo is to generate self-sufficiency among its most desperate citizens. Through the implementation of educational programs and vocational training, the Bukavu Foundation hopes to develop long-term prosperity for these citizens. While the Foundation works to build a stronger and more prosperous community, it will help children in the region gain access to basic healthcare.”
