Did you know that Red Bull is illegal here in Norway. Even in Sweden it’s not the same Red Bull we know and love back home. So we’re drinking Jager in lemonade which is not as bad as it sounds. It puts hair on your chest at least (see below).
Oslo
The Streets of Oslo
[audio:peaches-downtown.mp3] Peaches new album got leaked. How much does the hook of this song sound like Annie? Play the music while you watch the vid for the full on experience.
Sult In The Park
My restaurant (Sult) was supposed to sell food at a park festival this weekend. Problems started when the food inspectors showed up. They shut us down because our ‘meat on ice’ system was not cool enough (literally, the meat was too hot). So I got the day off and we turned our area into a beer garden.
Holmenkollen
Holmenkollen is the site of a massive ski jump that can be seen for miles. It has been rebuilt for ski championships and olympics again and again. Norway just got the World Ski Champs for 2011 and there is talk of doing it all again.
You can go right up to the top and the view is incredible — you can see all of oslo. In the base is a ski museum with skis over 1000 years old. There is also a funny ski simulator that is kinda crap and this picture of a guy skiing at the olympics wearing a tie. So cool.

The Streets – Memento Mori
Btiz Bar
Pronounced “beh’tiz”. This is a nice spot for good music but it gets rammed after 12. They have this blue siren that goes off and signals cheap shots at the bar for the next moment.
And — Keeping on the Nelly Furtado tip, here she covers Gnarls Barkley.

That’s Kat’s friend Heidi and Me. And she thinks that she’s the one who looks bad in photos. I like how it looks like I have a little ‘stash or goatee or something going on.

[audio:maneater.mp3]This song is all over Norway right now. Its great to see Canadians get huge on the international scale. Nelly Furtado – Maneater
Nature in Norway
IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE:
Baby ducks, horses and cats — also cute in Norway. Possibly cute in other regions aswell.
Rainbows are also still considered “awesome” pretty much everywhere.

Barongsai
Ohhhhh shit. We found it. Hip hop in Norway.
This place is small and downstairs, but people who go here like hip hop, and I like people who like hip hop. They also play rap music here, which I enjoy aswell. There was also this old guy who was going crazy on the dancefloor before anyone else was dancing. You can see him behind me in one of these photos.
Oslo By Day
Oslo is pretty great when it’s sunny out. Maybe not when you are sleeping (see above), but it is nice to see everyone come out and enjoy the weather when it permits.
Frognerparken
As soon as you see the gate to the park, the scale of it is obvious. This park is massive and monumental. I took a walk through it the other day and I was blown away. If it were in Canada it would be pot smoking location #1. But, since pot here is practically heroin it was only full of asian tourists, Norwegians “enjoying the weather” and no pot smoking Canadians.
Gloria Flames – Drinking in Oslo
We went drinking at some friends place for another friends birthday and then went out with many friends to some bar where we stayed for half a beer (roughly the time it takes kat to drink a vodka sprite and a shot).
17 Mai
So Kat is a tad more Norwegian than any of us ever thought.
Flying To Norway
[mygal=norwayplanes] I had three planes. The first picture is from over Norway. The Second wing pic is over the UK and the third is over Finland.
